Melinda 'Yvette' Lowery-Andrews, M.Ed

Melinda 'Yvette' Lowery-Andrews is delighted to help the committee plan for the upcoming 2025 Lowery Family Reunion. In the role as Co-Chairperson, Yvette looks to help steer the committee in operational business and strategy to host the 2025 Lowery Family Reunion.

Psalm 121: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”

About Yvette


Melinda Yvette Lowery-Andrews is the daughter of Samuel and Betty Singletary Lowery, the granddaughter of Charlie and Nettie Jackson Lowery, and the great granddaughter of Rufus and Cecilia Lowery.


Melinda Yvette Lowery-Andrews is an accomplished eighth-grade English and language arts teacher with a rich history of 28 years in education. Yvette has taught in various locations, from South Carolina to Guam, Japan, Bahrain, and now at Fort Moore in Columbus, Georgia. Yvette holds a degree in English with a minor in Journalism from the esteemed Bennett College in Greensboro, NC. Yvette furthered her education by earning a Masters in Education and Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. Yvette also holds certifications in Humanities and Business Education from Old Dominion University, as well as certifications for grades K-12 from the University of Guam.


Outside of Yvette's professional life, she is a dedicated parent to two children, Erika Danielle, and Myles Marsalis. Yvette takes immense pride in being a grandparent to eight wonderful grandchildren. In Yvette's leisure time, she enjoys reading on her patio, watching reality shows, and exploring new destinations through travel.
